Li Li (PhD, MPhil, PCAP, BA) is Lecturer in Language Education and Director of MEd in TESOL in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Exeter. Li Li has been involved in English language teaching and research for nearly 20 years and has mainly worked in China and the UK. She conducts theoretical and empirical research on a range of topics but is particularly interested in teacher cognition, thinking skills, classroom interaction and technology integration into curriculum. Her research and writing falls within these four broad domains. She writes about the language teacher cognition through the lens of interaction and has made original contributions to understanding complexity of teacher cognition through closely studying interaction, particularly in the book-project she is currently working on (Social Interaction and Teacher Cognition). She is also interested in and published in teacher cognition about technology use, how new technologies facilitate language learning and how new technologies are integrated in classrooms. Her research in pedagogy in technology-supported learning and teacher education has led to a few funded projects, e.g Tertiary English Teachers' Online Learning Community in China: Theory and Practice. In addition, she is researching in thinking skills and is core member of THINK group Exeter. She also guest edited Thinking Skills and Creativity and now is engaging in a joint project with colleagues in China to look at how learners develop visual language in facilitate collaborative thinking. Currently she is also co-editing Handbook for Researching Thinking Skills (with Rupert Wegerif and James Kaufman, scheduled for 2014 by Routledge).
